I have recently updated my Spyware Doctor to version v6.0.1.440. For some reason my scans takes a lot longer now. Intell-Scans usually take less than 5 minutes, now it takes over 3 hours. Can you tell me why it's taking so long to scan now? Which option do I click to shorten the length of the scans? Thanks in advance.

Try deleting your internet history, cookies and temp files.

Did you have any other security software installed prior to Spyware Doctor?

Do you happen to know which scanner is taking a long time? We've tried testing but could not recreate the problem.

Thanks for your reply. I usually scan with Intell-Scan because it's usually the fastest. My scan settings are Alternative Data Streams, rootkit hidden files, lower scan priority to reduce CPU usage, and scan archives. Maybe I'll try to uncheck them to see if it'll run faster.

Make sure you have the latest DB version as well, as there was an issue earlier this week which has been resolved. The latest DB available is 6.12090. Even with the mentioned items checked, an intelli-scan should not take 3hrs. When you perform the scan check if the actual scan is freezinng on a specific scanner.

Uncheck your rootkit hidden files scan in Spyware Doctor and your quick scan will definitely be quick.
