I have Vista x64 and am so happy SD is now available. I installed it immediately but I found I have a problem with it.

I use my x-box 360 as a Media Center extender and Spyware Doctor is somehow stopping the communication between my pc media center and my x-box media center. I get a "Connection Terminated" screen on my TV. The only way around this is to go to "system", then "services" and uncheck the "PC Tools Security Service" box and then reboot. Obviously this shuts down SD completely rendering it useless BUT I can now use my x-box media center to watch TV, pictures, etc.

I currently have PC Tools support helping me with this but that is going nowhere fast. Any ideas?

All they told me to try so far was this:

1. Open Spyware Doctor.
2. Select OnGuard/IntelliGuard.
3. Select an OnGuard/IntelliGuard tool
4. On the right side select 'Disable this guard', repeat the steps until all OnGuards/IntelliGuards are off.
5. See if the problem persists.
6. If the problem is resolved enable each guard on at a time and find out which guard is causing the problem

I did that but my problem is still there.

Hi Mikemc26m,

Instead of turning off the intelli-guards off one at a time, can you turn it off globally (Status-> Click on 'IntelliGuard Protection is ON'-> turn OFF). Also go into Settings-> Advanced-> and disable 'Enable Full-Screen Detection'. While you give this a go, we'll have to test this out further. In the meantime, there may be no workaround at this stage, but we'll see what we can find.

OK, I did as you asked and it did NOT help. Then I rebooted pc and x-box just to make sure, still blocked me.

FYI, the exact terminology of my x-box error screen is this..

"Connection Failed: The x-box 360 was unable to prepare a connection to the Windows Vista Media Center PC. Restart your x-box and try again".

OR sometimes..

"Connection Terminated: The x-box 360 has unexpectedly disconnected from the Media Center based PC. This error can be caused by network congestion, a network disconnection, or because the pc has been turned off. Would you like to reconnect?"

Usually I get the "Connection Terminated" screen and the x-box will cycle on it's own to try and connect and then afetr a few failed attempts it goes to the "connection failed".

I think I am just going to give up. What's the deal with PC Tools support? Achen, I really do appreciate your willingness and effort to help me but what about the official support? My online ticket has been deleted and "Saeed N. Customer Support Representative PC Tools Customer Support Services" has not responded to me since Sunday March 29th 5am.

FYI, I uninstalled SD w/AV, installed just SD and the problem was still there. Maybe it thinks Media Center is spyware and it is just doing it's job.

This is more headache than I wanted. Can I get a refund?

I will follow this ticket and see what happened. Regarding this problem we'll have to do some further testing and see what could be causing the issue.

If you require a refund, I can assist you with this. Just send me a PM with your license code or order number.
