Full Scan Takes Hours

Hello
Does a full scan normally take approximately 6 hours? If not, is there anything I can do to speed it up? I have tried it in safe mode but it still takes forever.

Try unchecking scan archive settings.

If this is the cause, you might want to re-check it at a future date. The scan archives option will check downloaded installations. If not doing a lot of programs downloads and installs, then check every so often.

If this is not the cause, then we need to dig further.

Also go into internet options and clean history, cookies and temp internet files. Better yet, use a program like CCleaner.
