Hi Gusbus,

Could you please do the following to restore the files:
1.Open Spyware Doctor
2.Select Settings> Quarantine
3.From the list on the right side, select the files you wish to restore.
4.Click on Restore
(Note that because this is such a large file, you will receive a timeout message from SD, please ignore the message as SD will continue to restore the files even if the message appears. You may need to leave this overnight)

Hi
I know this may sound awkward, but please try restoring small groups of the hidden files at a time if possible, as Spyware Doctor may just be timing out when trying to restore the quarantined files.
Hope that helps

When you get the message 'box that says some items could not be restored i clicked ok and again i had 12398 hidden files' SD is still currently restoring the files even though this message is being displayed. One way to check is by going to the folders and checking if some of the files have actually been restored, while SD is doing its thing.

Please note that because you are trying to restore 35.4gigs, this may take quite some time.

Uninstalling will not recover these files that have been quarantined. Is there any location where you can upload this file? If you could possibly upload it somewhere, we can try to restore it for you. You can send me a link via Private Message if you like.

do you mean a website like livedrive.com?

AChen

Yep something like that. Because the file is so massive, I'm not sure what websites will allow this as most will have a limit. I have to see what we can do if there is anything. When you run the restore feature, do you know if any of the files are restored? even 1 file?

Also, have you removed system access to these files or directories? or do they have some sort of encryption? It seems the files have been locked to a specific account. Are you using anything specific to manage your photos & music? Some itunes-like thing etc?

well the pictures we're just in a folder in my picture folder the music however was in Itunes. about the web site there is a website that allows up to 100GB of upload for five days if i pay 5 dollars which isn't that bad i got it from pc world so if this will solve the problem let me know and ill make an account the website is www.4shared.com

Hi gusbus, do you have windows restore point enabled, if yes, I suggest to restore you windows days or week before you performed the scan that puts your files in the quarantine area. But if those files are in a external different path, that won't work.

Try to restore the quarantine files batch by back in safemode and see if that works.

hi Anthony
so, enabling Scan for rootkit hidden files sounds like a scary stuff
might check the box by mistake, curiosity or simply want that feature
it is nice to see a popup warning after the box is checked
