Is version 6 in its latist versions working with IE8?
I have put IE8 on and its much faster than IE7 but I rember the VERY long delay with updating with Firefox. Given IE8 has been underdevelopment for a very long time there is a good chace PCTools have had there act together better this time but I havn't been able to find any thing on compatablity.

I am not sure but the best answer is probably not since the official release of ie 8 is a quite recent
Best choice is wait a few next versions(builds)
Hope this helps

Hi Guys,
The latest version of SD (v6.0.1.440) should have no problems with IE8. We have tested this thoroughly and everything is working without any problems.

I have taken the risk of putting 440 back on. For some reasion IE8 apeares slowere than when the old version was on. Its really slugish when befor puting 440 on it was much faster than IE7. It may be SD 440 has recreated the recuring problem of effecting speed or maybe its just IE8

The QA team have investigated this and everything appears to be similar on IE7 and IE8. The sort of things to check is toolbars, browser addons, cookies and temp files etc. I'm currently on IE7 atm, but I'll upgrade and give this a test and see if I can notice any differences.

There were clearly NO changes to PC as this was an upgraded IE7 then uninstalled and put on 1,44 after about two days. The diffrence was marked as I had been running IE8 with old SD then with new. Its nearly enougth to either go role back SD or IE8. IE8 apered to load faster with old SD and brousing was much faster. I dont really know other programs as I had been trying out IE8 but I feel there is a slightly more slugish feel, enougth that if I hadn't done a cleen uninstall, registry cleen ups etc I would do that now, but thats been done.

i don't know if this will help, but i was just reading, in another forum, that using "spywareblaster" to add websites to IE 8's "restricted sites zone" seriously slows down the opening of IE 8.. i would think that using "IESYAD", which adds websites to IE 8's restricted sites zone, would, likewise, slow IE 8's opening, if that is the problem that some of you are experiencing..

I have disabled all SD protection and its much faster. I went through turning them off one by one with litte effect, so I don't know which if causingb the slow down,
I have done a trile and to my suprise with SD disabled it take about 13sec from clicking icon and about 10 sec with it working. It apeared more to me, but there is a slow down.
On the second PC with IE7 and 386 IE7 opens in about 7-8 seconds!
Have Win task manager open when you do the test to see 1) what else is running and 2) how much they are running. Click on the CPU column heading so that all the active processes are put together at the bottom of the window.
