Email Protection disabled- LSP issue

I'm trying to resolve this for a friend on his brand new dell studio laptop with vista home sp1. Only other software is the basic free zonealarm. Also CCleaner, there are no toolbars installed, firefox is used as the main browser. It's the latest SD+AV 6.0.1.440. It's a new PC so not even been used yet just in the process of set up. There's no other security active on the pc, windows defender is disabled and mcaffee that came as a trial with the pc was uninstalled before Spyware Doctor + AV was installed. How can the email protection be enabled, i tried an uninstall and clean of the registry then reinstall with no success.

yes thx just emailed instructions to him, i will try completely removing ZA as well. He had enabled and set up parental control on a standard account though i have instructed him to disable parental control and then restart, this had no effect though. We'll follow the instructions in the PM and also look at any effect ZA may be having.

Ok as an update i have found the cause of the issue and now repaired it. thanks achen for your guidance.

My friend had created a 2nd standard user in addition to the main admin account and added parental controls to this standard user.

Lsp list indicated that these took priority over pc tools. Even though we reset the parental controls and then disabled them and deleted the 2nd user the issue persisted.

I had to reset the winsock LSP by typing netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key. Then restarted the PC.

This removed the parental control from the LSP list and enabled the email protection to work again in intelliguard.

I wonder whether it is possible to use a 2nd user account with parental control enabled and still have the email guard active? Would it be possible and would it depend on the order of which you did things, I'm not sure whether he set the account controls before or after he installed soyware doctor+AV.
