ThreatFire Translation Issues

Here is the first group of issues which I have found when translating ThreatFire:

String no. 1050 ("Quarantine" in English) is used for a Settings tab name and also as an Action drop-down list option.
Please note that many languages have other words for "quarantine" as a noun and quarantine as a verb (meaning "to put in quarantine") - so it is not clever to use just one string for both above mentioned places.
"Smart Update" string cannot be translated in some places.More to follow (probably :) ).

We are planning some re-designs of the ThreatFire GUI which will address this problem, but we'll certainly keep this issue in mind going forward.


"Smart Update" string cannot be translated in some places.

This ia an example of a "protected" terms that will never be translated. These terms include any trademarked names, such as ThreatFire or PC Tools, or other technologies, such as Smart Update or Intelli-scan. For these special cases you will always see the term in its original English form.

Also any changes in the GUI that are made to support things like noun vs verb or terms with more than one context (state as an example) will also be supported when it comes to community translation whenever possible.

I also appreciate this type of feedback as it will have an impact on the initiative.

Hi,

I'm not really sure where to post findings about glitches in localized versions, therefore I'll post it here and hope, that this will be recognized by German translators.

The German translation of ThreatFire is in fact well done, but I have found two glitches so far.

The first glitch is about a record, which is only translated halfway through.
911=Prompt mich
(English GUI: 911=Prompt me)
'Prompt mich' makes no sense in German, in English it would mean something like 'Quick me' or 'Rapid me', just flapdoodle.
Translated literally 'Prompt me' would be 'Mich fragen' in German.
However, most often only 'Fragen' is used, which would be 'Prompt'.
Therefore my advice is:
911=Fragen

The second glitch is about a not translated record.
1016=Path:
In German it is:
1016=Pfad:

Just wanted to let you know that these issues were addressed in the latest release, ThreatFire v. 4.5.
