Problem with uploading files!!

There's problem that I've been having is that when I upload a video to metacafe or youtube, the progress bar works fine for sometime but after around 15-20% or so, the time remaining shoots up to 23 hours or something and the upload never completes.

It's the same problem with rapidshare. When I upload a file there, the progress bar just doesn't move, it's stuck at 0%.

I thought the problem may be related to the browser but I guess it's not so. I tried uploading with IE7, Opera and Firefox (all latest!) but the same problem is with all of them. BTW, I primarily use Opera (9.63).

I've got Windows Vista Home Premium. My internet connection is usually stable and the speed is 256 kbps....

Any ideas what may be the cause of the problem and how may I resolve it. It's drivin' me crazy nowadays....

Are you using a router? If so do you have the latest firmware?

Have you tried resetting your modem and router (unplug power, wait 30 seconds, replug power).

Have you optimized tcp/ip for broadband?

What other security software are you running... firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware?

the usual vista firewall, windows defender and AVG free.... Nothing else.

You could try temporarily disabling AVG then try the upload.

Other than that I don't know.
