With Browser Defender v2.0.6.1 installed and Internet Explorer 8RC1 (might not be specific to the browser version), and visiting and logging into facebook, you have an static bottom bar with 'Applications' button, and 'Notifications' button. When visiting Applications area and 'attempting' to access and play MOST of the items listed (such as 'Slot Machine'), it causes the browser crash. When visiting 'Notifications' area and attempting to access and read some entries listed .. it causes the browser to crash.

... Uninstalling the Browser Defender v2.0.6.1 Toolbar brings things back to normal working state...

Hi AChen,

I have the Dr Watson log and dump file, or you in reference to the mere entry logged into Event Viewer? What preferred means you wish me to send this information?

PM will be sent just after this post.

The Dr Watson log and dump file should be enough, we don't need the entry in the event log :) I'll send you a PM with my email address to send the files.

The same problem with Browser Defender v2.0.6.2, I figure they have another reason for this here release.

Hey!

Did they want me to make code adjustments for them also? Or do they have it under control?!? :p

This is a Sony VAIO problem and they have a workaround.

it involves a file called BtwVdpCapFilter.dll (it is a bluetooth profile that
essentially allows people to share their webcam across bluetooth BUT no one
uses this) and it is what is crashing when you access the webcam thru
IE/Firefox/Opera.

So go to C:\windows\system32 and rename it to anything for example
BtwVdpCapFilter1.dll and everything should be fine. Sony said they will be
releasing a patch for this.
