Hi,

I disabled my network card in windows XP and now when I try to enable it again it instantly makes the machine reboot and the card still isn't enabled when windows loads.

It was working fine before when it enabled on startup.

So does anyone know what registry setting I would need to change so the network card will be enabled on the next reboot?

In Device Manager, uninstall the device, then in the action tab, scan for hardware changes. The system should then find your device and drivers.

If something else caused the problem, you may have to download the latest device drivers for a fresh install.

Hi,
Trip, Instead of change the settings from registry, you can do few steps to enable the network card. First, it can do from control panel > system > device manager > select the network card and then right click on that, click on the enable option. If still not enabling the network device, then try to uninstall the network device and select the scan for hardware device option. It will start search the network device and then install the driver(software) for the network card or manually install from the cd or internet.
You can search for the network card from control panel > add hardware option.
