PC turns of automatically while running the scan for virus.

My PC turns off automatically while running the smart scan in PC Tools Anti virus. This has stopped my work. Please Help

Could you please provide more information?

What do you mean by Smart Scan?
What version of PCTAV are you running?
When exactly does it turn off?
Do you receive any error messages?
Are you running any other security software?

Hi Antony,

This was happening as soon as I clicked on smart scan in 5.0 Version. As soon as used to start the scan, a message saying "computer is switching off, please save all unsaved data" used to come and automatically gets switched off in 1 minute's time. I have downloaded the 5.0.1.1 version and removed the previous one and its not happening anymore. Would you please suggest why was that happening. Please allow me to add thanks for providing the AV and for a reply.

The options we get while scanning saying smart scan or full scan.
And No, I have turned down all other security softwares before using PCTAV.

I am not sure what you mean by "Smart Scan"?

From the info you have provided, I am not sure what the problem could have been as there could be multiple possibilities. There could have been a problem with PCTAV on your PC, where some file may have been corrupt, or there could have been a conflict with another application etc. It is very difficult to say, if you still had the problem, we could have checked it out further, but since its resolved, I won't be able to locate the problem without additional info. And this is the first report of this kind of problem.
