View Full Version : iavd CPU spikes when used with Parallels

I'm seeing significant CPU spikes with iavd consuming 80%+ for several minutes for no apparent reason, i.e. no file activity that I can think of. I've noticed that it happens when I'm running BootCamp Windows under Parallels. I wonder if it could be happening because iavd is checking a giant memory snapshot ({*}.mem) that Parallels maintains when running under ~/Documents/Parallels/BootCamp.pvm/. In my case it's a 2GB file.

Is there any way to exclude some files from a resident (daemon) protection?

Hi DKroot,

You can exclude ~/Documents/Parallels/BootCamp.pvm/ by adding it to exclusions which is available on the 'general' tab of iAntiVirus preferences.

Please let me know if this solves the problem, thanks.

Thanks!

I've done it, will keep an eye on the spikes.
