What happened to the release announcements? I just happened to go to the download page and found that the toolbar for firefox was 1.0.43.

Is development on the toolbar going to stop and PC Tools are trying to make each release quietly?

As of yet, there was no newer version than v2.0.6.6 detected.

And there was a change that wasn't listed for here this new version, and should have. For those who loved having the convenience of a large visible Toolbar with a nice clear visible details showing, are now lost (... should have been an optional feature). Also I don't really see much point of having a small visual box while the whole PC Browser Defender Toolbar still goes right across to the other end of the IE screen. :confused: I can't move my links bar onto the end of BD visual area, Favorites or the Command Bars. The only thing that I was able to add / move onto the end of BD visual area is the Menu Bar .. which I don't even have set to show until I Alt key it.

Regarding the toolbar, you should be able to move it around. Could you right click on IE browser menu-> Make sure 'Lock the Toolbars' is unticked and this should allow you to see the difference.

I see your point now. This is the only area that BD cannot move into as this is the way IE8 has been designed.

Have tried to download the latest version,but wont install on V3.5.1.When checking for updates to Add-Ons,Firefox says there is no update from the last version V1.0.43.If installed from your link it downloads and asks for Firefox to be restarted.If I click on restart Firefox just closes and doesn't restart.When restarted manually it says that it can't be installed till Firefox is restarted!

I just tried installing BD v1.0.55 with FF version 3.5.1 and didn't have any problems. See screenshot. I'm not sure what you mean from there is no update from the last v1.0.43? Maybe you are trying to install this older version? Can you provide more info?

thanks for your reply.Have tried to install BD again and it works this time!
What I was trying to say was if you use FF to check for updates to your AddOns,it says there are no updates available.I had an earlier version of BD which was disabled when I upgraded to the latest version of FF as it wasn't compatable.However it remains under the AddOns and you can use FF to check for newer versions.Why didn't it find this update?

It is probably because FF had the addon disabled. Same thing is true for IE, if an addon is disabled, it will not check for updates.

The upgrade via a Smart Update should be available either today or tomorrow. Normally when we release an upgrade to a product, the update can vary, but normally is added within the week after a release.

for next up date in browser defender it should give a blocking message like spyware doctor does when the user attempts to enter a site with a red shield and white cross on it.
