Pctools Not Updating Under Sbs2003

Hi Guys,

I love the fact that PCtools released a free antivrus that could be used on a SBS2003 server, so I immediately installed it (the latet version by the way)

However the smart update schedhuel will not update:
I have it update at 9.30am daily every 0 days, which works fine in XP. Even 1 day and weekly dont work.

So it have to be the smart update so please fix it.

I just logged into the server and found this message about a run time C++ eror. I encloed a JPEG of it.

I have rtried unistalling and reinsttalling PCtools but it wont iupdATE. iT WILL DO THE VERY FIRST SMART UPDATE BUT NEVER AGAIN.

aNY IDEAS... cause I might have to remove PCtools from the server if it keeps failing like this, until its sorted/

Has anyone else had any problems with sbs2003. I dont have any other secirty software running

Hi zczcv35,

In order for PCTAV to update, the PC will need to be turned on when the scheduled update is about to occur. The developers are enhancing this Smart Update feature which hopefully will be available in the next release.

Regarding the c++ Runtime error, is related to a conflict with another AV program. What other AV programs do you have running? (I will give this a test) If you have uninstalled that AV program, make sure to remove all remnants of that program.

I was not aware that PC Tools AV would work properly on any Windows Server version. It doesn't support Fast User Switching in Xp. How does it cope with running separate services for each user logon?
