Help with Malware

I have contracted some kind of virus that has blocked every anti-malware programme I have tried. I originally had Spyware Doctor and really need advice on fixing my computer.

The virus came with a download of something and has blocked Spyware Doctor from downloading any updates or being run in any way. It also blocks me from the Spyware Doctor webpage (I'm on another computer atm). It has also blocked all other fixing programmes and their websites so I can't download or try to fix it. The virus also blocked all the restoration points on my computer and then blocked them. It also cause the computer to run slowly.

I have a laptop with Windows XP.

Does the malware pop up any kind of messages or alerts?
