View Full Version : System Health is low
Brand new installed Vista Business and each time I'm starting DM it shows in the left lower corner "System Health is Low" and then "scan your registry", which I did several times, but no luck.
I can see, that DM ignores one entry to repair, marked High Priority, Highlighted value is missing or invalid: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PowerShell\1 \PowerShellEngine.
I did a Scan -> Repair and then Scan and Close and went to see the log. Maybe someone can help. Is it serious? Should I reinstall Vista or....?
I cannot upload my Scan.log, the "Attach Files" function on this forum keeps telling me "Invalid file" when I try to upload the log.

If u can not attack the SCAN.LOG file to forum, just simply open Scan.log file, then copy n paste all of the contents to the forum. So, u dun need to attach it. Got what I mean?
1. Open DM
2. Scan > Repair
3. Run antoher Scan > NO REPAIR
4. Go to C > Prog Files > Desktop Maestro > Data folder. Please find Scan.log
5. Open the file (should be a notepad file), copy all of the content
6. Paste to this forum n click SUBMIT REPLY
easy...!!! :D
I dun think it is necessary for you to reinstall Vista. why there is a ignore item? Just simply because the item is being used by another program. So, nothing really wrong with ur system I guess.
Cheers mate,
Merry Xmas n Happy New Year :)
:D I love Spyware Doctor ;D:D
Thanky u for reply. An d I hope I dont need to reinstall Vista. It's working just find.
Bellow, the scan.log file (found it in C:\Program Files\Desktop Maestro\log).
Anf Happy New Year to you too!

Are you still running Norton?
If not, delete the keys.
If you are unable to delete the keys at first, right click the key, click permissions, click full control, then try deleting the keys again.
The scan should now complete OK.

The system low messages is due the fact that the above files could not be deleted, either because they were locked or in use.
You can run a program like CCleaner to get rid of temp files or run the scan in safe mode. CCleaner is free and a safe reliable program to use for maintenance and cleanup.

Click CCleaner to open and click cleaner on the left side.
Run CCleaner first to see if that clears out the files.
If not
To run Safe Mode:
When booting the PC, press F8 until you get the boot options screen. Choose Safe Mode. Do not be alarmed when you see the screen as it will look different than a normal boot.
Run CCleaner then run Registry Mechanic.

thanks for your ongoing suggestions
i tried all that was mentioned in the above, I assume seeing as i have desktop maestro instead of registry mechanic that i was to copy the files into the data folder of desktop maestro.
Unfortunately neither worked for me.
Does this mean something is fundamentally wrong with my computer (i pray not)?

Does this mean something is fundamentally wrong with my computer (i pray not)?
Absolutely not. It is just those four temp files that can not be deleted.
Just to confirm. You did boot into safe mode and ran CCleaner. Yes?
You can try to delete the files manually in safe mode.
Other than that I am out of ideas.

I just installed DM a few days ago and I am getting that same health low message, this after numerous scans initiated by me as well as the one automatically done each time I boot. This continues after each successive cleaning, so my only guess is that it may have something to do with the fact that I am using the RC of Win 7 while awating delivery of my commercial release of Win 7 Pro. I was just curious though as to why it might say this, as ThreatFire says my system is good, Prevx says it's good, N360 (with the Win 7 patch) says it's good (using their tuneup options), even when I temporarily installed the latest version of NIS (2010), everything is good. I have not noticed any type of decrease in system performance, in fact my PC is performing better than ever. Perhaps I just need to wait for the Win 7 version of DM to get the correct result, because if my system can run better than it is already, I would frankly be stunned...

Azadam24, DM does not support Windows 7 at this stage, therefore, it cannot clean the registry or perform the tasks as it should. Therefore, you are seeing the 'System health low'.

Hey thanks for this info, I also had similar problem on vista but was unable to resolve.
You are replying to an old thread.
For updates, check out the sticky thread: http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53102 or the website: http://www.pctools.com/desktop-maestro/.
For your problem macospro, I will need log files.
*NOTE: Before following the steps shown below, please ensure that Desktop Maestro is set to perform "Log scanning". To ensure Desktop Maestro is set to "Log scanning" please follow the steps shown below:
Desktop Maestro 2.0: Open Desktop Maestro > Select "Settings" > Ensure the "Log scanning" check box is checked.
Desktop Maestro 3.1: Open Desktop Maestro > Select "Options" > Select "Settings" > Ensure the "Log scanning" check box is checked.
1. Start Desktop Maestro and complete a full scan and repair
2. Run another scan with Desktop Maestro (but do not complete a repair)
3. Navigate to the "\Program Files\Desktop Maestro\log" folder and attach the "scan.log" file to your reply to this thread.
How to locate the Desktop Maestro "scan.log" file...
A) Open "My Computer"
B) Select "Local Disk (C:)"
C) Select "Program Files"
D) Select "Desktop Maestro"
E) Open the "log" folder
4. Please attach the "scan.log" file to a reply to this thread.
