Okay, so apparently my mom thought it would be a smart idea to download winiguard until she figured out that it was a virus. So then she asked me to get it off for her. I've been looking for a solution for a few days now but everything I found doesn't even help. Every antivirus program I use can't even pick it up. Spyware Doctore can never update itself even when I have my firewall and antivirus turned off. I've tried deleting the registry values but its almost as if they arent even there. I think they may have gotten deleted when I tried uninstalling the program. I really need some help on this. Thank you!

I understand that except for one problem. The file as well as the registry values are not their anymore but winiguard is still popping up saying I have viruses.

Hi
CounterSpy is still available, VIPRE is just Sunbelt's new program that incorporates a new antivirus engine with their current antispyware engine.
Hope that helps

What a hassle!
I finally got winiguard off of my system after trying everything. Malwarebyte didn't work. My other spyware and Norton antivirus/antispyware didn't detect it.
From reading this and other forums I was able to find and delete cfrog.exe from the System32 folder and the registry. There were no balloon.exe or winiguard.exe files.
I still had popups and trouble using the internet though. That's because winiguard was starting up everytime as "promo.exe". I disabled it from the startup in msconfig and restarted my computer to see if that was it and BOOM! no more popups. So i deleted promo.exe from Windows System32 folder and also from the registry by searching (ctrl+f) in regedit and then deleting the promo.exe registry key.
I hope this helps anybody who was in my situation! Good luck!
