Hi damor,

I am assuming these are via webmail and not through an email client? could you please confirm. I haven't come across this one before and not sure what could be causing it. Do you have any other security software installed other than PCTAV? We'll try to do some additional test to see if we can try and recreate the problem.

I can't see how PCTAV could be affecting webmail, because this is set up like any other website, where PCTAV should not interact with the website itself. If it was a email client, then it could quite possibly relate to PCTAV. I've tried testing this and could not reproduce this and haven't had any other reports.

Have you got any other security software installed? I could give it a test with a similar environment to yours and see if we come across any problems.

Hi,
I also can no longer access gmail direct from from google.com but I followed the steps on google's site for when you can't access the site, and am able to get in.

I didn't associate that with the AVG though, but could be wrong.

damor,

If I read your first post correctly, you indicate that you had windefender which is a rogue malware program and rightfully so you should have uninstalled that. I trust that you are not confusing that with Windows Defender, a valid program from Microsoft.

I am not sure what anti-malware progrrams you are running, but you should perform some scans.

You should only have one anti-virus program installed, it look like you have more that one. Choose one.

Assuming that you have Spyware Doctor, perform a full scan.

Also perform a full scan with what ever anti-virus program you are using.

... If I read your first post correctly, you indicate that you had windefender ... I think that the OP is stating that another person had & uninstalled windefender: "i search on web n found similar kind of problem been faced by a person using windefender and after uninstalling win defender his problem vanished."

The OP just followed the logic and uninstalled what he deemed to be the equivalent of WinDefender: "I also uninstalled PC Tools AV and my problem is also gone."

The "I also uninstalled" part threw me for a bit - and it does leave room for the interpretation that the OP had both WinDefender and PC Tools AV installed.... but I'm going to guess that the OP only had the later installed.

Awaiting clarification from the OP :-)
