I know that when we install a new version/build of SD, we check "Scan Archives" for SD to do a complete thorough check on our pc, but is it necessary to Scan Archives for every repeated scan after that?
In particular "Full Scans"?
Thanks
When you click the full scan button on SD. It will scan the whole system and won't miss any files also scan all Scan Archives and Zip files. The same with the new beta version of Spyware Doctor.
Hope it helps

Wrong, archives will be scanned only if "scan archives" in SCAN SETTINGS is checked.

I would suggest that after you get a clean archive scan, you can turn the archive scan option off and perhaps re-check it quarterly, or monthly.

Like Haapy has mentioned, it is probably a good idea to run an "Archive scan" once in a while. But this really depends on what you are doing on the PC. Example, if you download many compressed files regularly, then it will be a good idea to run a scan with archives selected regularly as there is the potential of these files being infected. It is always good to run a Archive scan once in a while to be on the safe side :)

OK, thanks for that. Its just than archive scanning takes ages to complete a full scan.
