I am extremely angry about this! How DARE you do this - no email, nothing - just a charge to my credit card (which carries heavy interest!)
I want a refund IMMEDIATELY please.

If I do not get a refund within 48 hours of this I will be taking this incident further as I believe this is tantemount to theft!

Just been on the phone to my credit card company and they confirm that this has definitely been generated by PCTools and it is an automated renewal system.
The only scam that has happened is that done by PCTools! In this day and age when credit and money are desperate - the world's credit is in crisis - PCTools still sees fit to pull a devious stunt like this!
I am still furious with PCTools about this and I still want a full refund.
I will have absolutely NOTHING to do with PCTools again - EVER! There are other products out there, just as good (if you call it that!) - probably better and some are free products are perfectly good enough for the job of protecting a home computer system:mad: !

Most software companies these days have an auto renewal system and people can always choose to opt out if they wish. Always make sure to read the terms and conditions before purchasing as this information is provided and has been clearly stated.
For more information, check out http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50304.

It's right in the agreement when you ordered that renewal is automatic and that YOU must send THEM an email to opt out. Take your frustrations out somewhere else.

I have evidence from 2007 that I wrote PC Tools to cancel the automatic renewal, and still they withdrew money from me...
I want a full refund.
I have written to admin, hope something will happen now

Admin is not the right place, send a PM to AChen with license number. Another option is to log into 'My Account' on top left on home page, then disable autorenewal.
(Lykke til :)

This option no longer seems to be available. I've looked and can find no way to do this.

Silvertones & All
The option to change is still there in My Account it's just a bit long winded to find.
To find the option.
1. Log on to your My Acccount as usual
2. Click on the My Licences Tab
3. Click on the Long licence code number this should take you to the licence details for the software
4. There you should see a line for Subscription Status, mine is set to Auto renewal.
Next to it is a link called "modify", click on this and it should take you to a page where you can change to manual renewal.
Hope this is of some help
