Now that Threatfire has an interface that clearly calls out its version and database status and an updater that actually reports what it's doing, it has become considerable for purchase.

That said, I am also running SD as in trial version and also considering it for purchase.

I know the differences between running SD and TF side by side or running SD with Behavior Guard.

So before I decide to buy both TF and SD or just SD/BG, I'd like an answer to this: is the current Behavior Guard up to the same level of functionality as TF 4.0.010?

If not, when is that happening?

Thank you.

Hi dallas7,

Behavior Guard will be upgraded to the new TF, however, this will take some time due to the major changes in the new version of TF. We are hoping to release this early next year. Once I hear any news, I will provide an update.

If buy SD and TF is not a good idea. You should use SD+BG because it with SD and won't be interruping any software or program you are running. If you have SD and TF you will have two Secuity software running and may also slow computer down also demping on you computer speed. If your computer is fast you can use SD+TF

Best Regards

Thank you! It's Spyware Doc AND TFire, then.

My machine is about a year behind in "the fastest stuff" universe, but it's still a screamer. Currently, all the anti-malware stuff uses 125 MB of my RAM with no perceived slowdown.

Things might be different on my P3/1GHz laptop, tho... :D

Well, I went ahead an bought TF and SD.

On my E8400 box, I can't even tell they're there. Naturally.

However, I was surprised how well behaved they are together on my P3/1GHz laptop. Running a Windows Resource Kit app, QuickSlice, I can observe the system hits generated by them (as well as avast! and BOClean). But in actual use, they aren't any sort of hindrance whatsoever. The laptop is merely for Web surfing, email and IM tasks when I'm out roaming the planet and can connect publicly. And that's precisely why I'm running all that anti-stuff stuff. If there's a minor slow down as they toil away protecting my system, well - Good!

I should mention the laptop is running 1 GB of RAM and a fast, current production Hitachi drive.
