I keep getting Antispyware Guard popups (starts with a warning about a 16 bit illegal command attempted, then the dos screen pops up and then the ad which offers to do a full scan). I've done full system scans- and they keep popping up- in fact they even pop up while doing the scans! I am using Spyware Doctor with antivirus vs. 6.0.0.386. What do I need to do to stop them?

Download and install Malwarebyte's Antimalware from www.malwarebytes.org.
It is free and should get rid of it.

I agree. Malwarebytes should find it. SD should find it if you do an Intelliscan configured to also scan for malicious rootkits. There are some spyware and malware programs which one product will find yet the other does not. Thats why I like to have both of these software programs on my system.

I waited a bit to be sure it worked and I'm pleased to say that I've had no more problems after taking your suggestion. I really appreciate it!

Hi,
I have SD AV. Do you get malwarebytes as an active program and if so then it seems to play okay with SD AV.
Recently burned with software conflicts so am being cautious but would like a second anti-spyware, anti-malware program.
thanks

Malware bytes is a standalone malware scannerscanner.
Avira is a good standalone av scanner.
Both are OK with SD.
