I recently built a new HTPC, using Windows Vista Ultimate.
ON the previous one runnin XP, I was able to hook the SPD/IF to one receiver, and a cable out of one of the audio outs to another receiver, and have both play simultaneioiusly: 1 to downstairs, 1 upstairs.
On this one, I am not having luck. It appears that I have to select a default of speakers, or digital, and it plays to one or the other.
Does anyone know, if I purchase a sound card and install it, will I be able to play to one receiver with that, and the other with the on on the motherboard...same thing, or differeing if I want?
Another think I could try: the Digital on the MOBO has both a Coaxial and a Light based (lost my terminology...). Maybe I could use both of those, both being digital.
Any thoughts?
