hi friends


can anybody tell me that i can i make my network disable for other users on the network. what i want is i can access the other computer's from my network but i don't want other people from the network to access my computer, if any is having idea of it please let me know.

you don't really give us enough information but for starters, how about shutting off the Printer and File sharing in your TCP/IP information.

1> what OS are you using? what kind of network/domain?
2> what protocols are you using?
3> what do you want users to not be able to access? From the Internet or from the LAN?

if file sharing is on (and you will need this if you want to access other machines) that does not mean that your own machine is accessible. It will be visible in the network neighbourhood.

But you also need to enable others access to drives and folders on your machine. This hase to be done individually per object (file or folder) - there is no default sharing. If you have not removed the optical feedback, you will see a "serving hand" icon overlay for each resource you are defined for sharing.
