I am imaging multiple PCs, and have a base image with a full install, additional apps, etc... After i load the image onto a new system, it finds new hardware. The network card from the base image gets hidden, and a new one installs (and when I try to use the same IP, it warns me that another adapter is using this device, yet it does not show up in device mgr)
All these systems have identical hardware & BIOS is set same as well.

Try safe mode and remove all duplicates of all installed devices check them all

I use ghost as well when you do a save try using a partition to image rather than disk to image or it will copy the boot track where the nt info is then use that image to partition to clone your pc

I am trying that now & will let u know how it works. FYI, i went to ADD/REMOVE HARDWARE & chose to view hidden devices- seems I have two of nearly every device, NICs, keyboards, system processors, etc... one is hidden, other is not...
Thanks again phil!

the new NIC has a unique MAC address - it's normaly Windows find new hardware.

I tried imaging just the partition, same problem. Any other suggestions?

Maybe I am not interpreting what you have said correctly, but you should not use the same IP address for all units. The IP address on each individual unit on your network should be unique.

the conflict is deriving itself between a physically attached NIC card & one that is NOT attached, but does have the drivers installed. It is hidden as well. That problem is solved however. I had to go into ADD/REMOVE HARDWARE, show hidden devices, and uninstall both. Then it finds the physically attached device, and smooth sailing....
