I have managed to hide drives, remove find and run commands, lock down IE, and assign the REMOTE LAPTOP USERS NOT CONNECTED TO A NETWORK ....(sorry ,...wanted to make that clear)...assign them to the users local group.
My issue is that they will receive these machines and they will need to install their printers. About 25% have the same printer. No problems there. I can install the driver on 2000 as admin then ghost the image.
What can I do about the other 75% of people who have Lexmarks, OKIData, HP OfficeJets, Canon BJ, etc? I do not want to 'junk up' my image with several drivers. I realize that I could give everyone the same printer, but I'm talking about 500+users all over the country.
Can the users group be assigned 'Install printers' right? Any ideas are welcome.
