Hey, I'm a little concerned here about whats going on recently with my cd/rw. We installed it last summer have had no problems with until recently, there are two lights on the face of the cd/rw, one is for "writing" or"burning a cd" and the other says "Disc in- Active" well I have noticed lately that the second light "active" flashes on every time I get on the internet, every 2 minutes it flashes, and when I'm not on the internet every 5-10 minutes (it seems to vary) Why is this, I'm afraid someone has hacked my computer and is monoriting me. How would I know, what can I do? HELP Thanks Kim

<font color=blue> Wow, that sounds weird, first thing that comes to mind is that you picked up a virus, do a virus scan and see what happens. </font color=blue>

I ran the virus scan and it said no virus detected? Now what? I was kinda hoping there was a virus and not someone hacking my comp. Thanks for your help. Kim

<font color=blue> Make sure you have the latest virus updates, and even if someone hacked into your PC it is strange that your CD-Rom lights are flashing, and not your harddrive light. </font color=blue>

Thanks Adrian, I'll check to make sure about the lastest viruses, Can I give you the start up items and see if you can tell me what they are? For example, in system config./autoexe.bat/ I have 6 different lines of commands, one reads , Path=C:\windows;C\windows\command;C:\;C:\CDRom;C:\ \BRCD\BIN;C:\BRCD\COMMAND;C:\Windows\System;C:\Win dows\System32. When I seen CD Rom I wondered if it had anything to do with it? Thanks Adrian

<font color=blue> Ok those lines are normal, what I suggest you do now is, e-mail the maker of the cd drive, and explain to them the problem, thats where you can get a rock solid answer, cause this one is a first for me. </font color=blue>

On our old Packard Bell win95 computer our CD drive and HD lights would flash every few seconds as long as the computer was powered up.
