View Full Version : Firefox plugin not flagging Google search results

Hello there,

I am not seeing the little shield icons when I search Google. Works as advertised on Yahoo, however. I also have the WOT add-on and it works no matter which search engine I am using. I realize the FF version is still in Beta, but is anyone experiencing similar issues?

I've just tested this with FF 3 on Linux. The toolbar version is 0.18.60. It worked without WOT installed and also worked after installing WOT. All the toolbar options were set to true (right click the toolbar to get the options menu).

What version of FF are you using and on what operating system?

Also what options do you have enabled?

EDIT: The only way I have managed to get google results to not have a shield was to switch of the option "Check Sites Online"

I am using Firefox 3.0.1 on Windows XP SP3.

I've tried checking/unchecking the various options in the right click menu (Including "Check Sites Online"), still no joy.

Here's a thought, could you do a google search for anything and then copy one of the result links to this forum. It could have something to do with the detection of google internal links and external links.

The toolbar checks the page url for "google.com" to see if the shields need to be added. The page you are access is "google.ca". Could you try to go to the following link:

http://www.google.com/search?q=warez&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Let me know if this works for you.

What version of the toolbar are you using?

What is the url you get when you do a google search (ie http://www.google.ru/search?hl=...) ?

What toolbar settings are enabled/disabled (right click on the toolbar for the popup) ?

unforntunatly I had to uninstall PC Tools Internet Security. It made my computer run way to slow. Often freezing up to. Of course it is the computers fault because it only has a maximum capacity of 384 MB of RAM.

To bad.

I really liked the program.

Have you tried installing just the firefox toolbar? (www.browserdefender.com/download/) or (addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8909)

Yes. And that didn't work either in Firefox.

Works in Internet Explorer though.

Make sure to download the correct version for the specific browser.
