Why I can't get my gmail emails since I used Spam Monitor?

Error message:

Connection Reset

on my Outlook Express:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Your server IP address is incorrect. That IP is the "localhost", i.e. your own computer.

Hi Orangawam,

It looks like a POP3 timeout because it appears you are connecting to local host i.e. 127.0.0.1 instead of the GMAIL mail server pop.gmail.com. Could you please confirm?

If you disable Spam Monitor what happens?

Could you also send us a copy of your config/Outlook setup as we don't scan port 995 by default for pop3 in Spam Monitor.

More than likely he didn't know that the problem was his settings as Spam Monitor does change the settings as well as make many redundant folders for every account on an email client.

Spam Monitor 4.0 now intercepts email using an LSP.

It no longer operates as a proxy between the mail client and the mail server and so does not need to modify the mail client settings.

However there has been a bug reported in the uninstall of Spam Monitor 3.0 for thunderbird users where the mail client settings are not replaced in the Thunderbird configuration file.

If Spam Monitor 3.0 Users also using Thunderbird upgrade to Spam Monitor 4.0they will need to re-enter the mail account details in their Thunderbird configuration.

Clean installations of Spam Monitor 4.0 with a working Thunderbird Mail Client will NOT have this issue.
