Hello,

I purchased Spyware Doctor yesterday as it was recommended to me to eradicate the Antivirus XP2008 rogue that I somehow ended up getting on my laptop.
Most of the problems have now vanished; however I still cannot surf the internet. When I google some information for example, all links that are displayed, if clicked, are redirecting me to link pages. Some pages, like the ones related to the PC Tools site, are not even available... When I run SD, it discovers 2 hidden files and successfully removes them; however when i reboot and scan again the &&*^%T hidden files are back.
Can you please help me find a way to eradicate these two files once and for all?
Also, all Adsense ads are changed into some other type of ads that come up within the space normally allocated to Adsense... The font as well of Internet Explorer are also screwed up...
Please, help me...
Thank you,

If you have more than one account in your laptop scan there. I had one infection that wouldnt remove until i scanned in another account. scanned and removed, its all good now.

hey.. you can try to run the scan in safemode with networking. In most cases it will work and remove the infections. Just follow steps below:

Safe Mode with Networking
_________________________

How to Shutdown and Restart the Computer in Safe Mode with Networking:

1. Click on the Start button menu on your Task Bar
2. Select Shut Down from the menu (''Turn off Computer'' in XP). The 'Shut Down Windows' dialog box will appear.
3. Select Shut down (or, ''Turn Off'' in XP) and click the Yes (or OK) button
4. When the computer starts back up, begin immediately by pressing the F8 key repeatedly until the Windows Startup menu appears with various options
5. By using the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard, select 'Safe Mode with Networking' and not any other modes.
6. Login to your account (if asked)
7. Wait and eventually Windows will start in Safe Mode
8. Run Spyware Doctor
9. Perform a Full Scan and Fix the threats that are found.

Please remember to reboot your computer after you completed these instructions.

Hope it'll work now :)

Thank you very much for your help, it is very appreciated.
I tried to launch my laptop in Safe Mode with networking (thank you for the very detailed instructions) but I cannot log in... For some reason the password that I use to log in normally is refused when I try to log in in safe mode mode...
Would you happen to know why?
First thing morning i ran Spyware Doctor again, and the same crappy infected hidden files were there... One can hope...
Thank you again.

And Bobo, thank you too, I did not mean to ignore your reply. I only just realised what you meant by two accounts... I have only one, unfortunately...

Hi pling,

Can you please run the Malware Detective tool in Spyware Doctor. This is located under Tools-> Malware Detective and follow the prompts. If you require a ticket number and have not submitted a ticket before, send myself a Private Message with your email address and I'll assist you with this. Once we receive the log file, we can then assist you further with removing this infection.
