ok, just loaded sp6 with anti-virus and noticed that my computer slowed down to a crawl and I could not access the internet. After working on this for 1 full day, I finally kept it from starting up in msconfig and now my computer is super fast and I can surf.....i think i want my money back because this is one big headache for me (my wife is now on my case). In principle, your product sounds great and it pointed out over 80 different infections and threats that my other spyware products could not. so unless you can help me fix this problem without spending over 30 minutes working on it...I would like a refund.

Hi rrransom,
Did you install any previous versions of Spyware Doctor? before installing v6.0.0.383?
Do you have any security programs installed?
What OS are you running and what are your computer specs?

I just installeed SD 6.0.0.383 after uninstallind the previous SD 6 version.
I now have a problem with full scans. My computer gangs/freezes when the scanner reaches the file "C://WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CSRSS.EXE".
I have added this file in the Globle Action List, but my pc still freezes on this file.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I had the same problem with the previous SD 6 version, but when I added this file to the Globle Action List, it skipped the file and the scan completed with no hassles.
My specs are:
Norton Internet security 2008
Threatfire 3.5
Spyware Blaster 4.1
XP sp3
2GB Ram
2.08 GHz cpu
40 GB hard disk
I too have had a problem with my pc slowing down to a snails pace after downloading version 6. I know it is specifically the Spyware Doctor software as when the software is switched off my pc runs fine. I also found that it is when Intelliguard protection is switched on that the problem occurs (turning Intelliguard protection off, but keeping Spyware Doctor on, does not slow my system).
To see specifically which function of Intelliguard protection is causing the problem I switched each of the components on individually. All the individual components were ok EXCEPT for File Guard. Switching File Guard on slowed the loading on my internet pages to such a degree that the internet became unusable. However, when I was able to switch File Guard off, the internet pages loaded normally. Maybe you could try this too rrransom - see if your speed problem resolves.
Having all the Intelliguard components switched on except for File Guard does slow my pc a little, but not to a degree that I would be overly concerned about it - at least it is useable (although no slowing would be best of course!!)! This is how I am running things for the moment. I have reported my findings to customer support and I am hoping they can suggest some way of me being able to speed things up. I am using a Compaq Presario pc with AMD Athlon 64 processor 1.81GHz 896MB ram, with Microsoft XP SP3, Norton antivirus, Zone alarm firewall and PC Tools Registry Mechanic

The common thread here is Norton, both Internet Security and Antivirus. They have been problematic. Try disabling it and try again.
Also try disabling Spyware Blaster.
Too many protections from multiple vendors = trouble.
Stick with SD/AV and BG or TF and you will have a better computing experience.

The freezing problem is now solved. After 2 days of mulpiple database and signature updates, I ran another full scan and all is well again.
There is a big difference of scan speeds when I added the file to the Globle Action List. It usually takes about 3.5 hrs to scan 435,000 odd files, but without this file scanned, it took 1hr 18 min to scan 280,000 odd files.
In a couple days time I wijll removed this file from the Globle Action List and attempt a full scan again as it seems obvious that the 150,000 files that are not being scanned could contain spyware and the like.

Ok, I couldn't wait a couple days so I just did another full scan with the file
"CSRSS.EXE" removed from the Globle Action List. SD completed the scan in 1hr 4min scanning 279,000 odd files. It used to scan 435,000 files in the previous Version 6. Why is this new version scanning less files than the old one? I thought that with eah neew version, SD would scan moe files than the last one, where the more file it scans, the greater chance there is of virus/spyware detection.
I keep using the same settings checked :
Rootbit
Scan Archives
Scan All Files And Processors (in file guard)

I use SDAV and also notice a slowdown when File Guard is enabled. It doesn't seem to affect web browsing, but starting applications is slow. My machine is a Dell Dimension 4550 with 2.33GHz Pentium 4 and 1GB RAM. I'm running Windows XP SP3 and no other security software.

I also noticed a slight slowness when opening up programs like Quicken from my desktop icon. Like you said though, my web browser ran fine.

I had a reply from customer support who, after reviewing my pc system, told me that I have the Real Time File Scanning feature turned on from Norton Antivirus and it was possibly this that was slowing down my system. They told me that if I have File scanning from Norton enabled, I can just disable File Guard from Spyware Doctor. This is how I am running Spyware doctor at the moment.
