I recieved a HIGH threatfire security alert that notified me that the Amazon.com downloader applet was logging key strokes on my PC. I had just finished buying music and had allowed their downloader software to run to make the purchase.

This is one of the first times my threat fire has ever really detected something on my pc. Has anyone ever heard of this before? Should I be concerned? I went ahead and quarantined the file. The description says this activity is highly unusual in most cases.

I think programs that recognize shortcuts (while not active in the foreground) are basically logging keystrokes. Does amazon downloader have shortcuts? If it does try disabling all shortcuts, see whether it is still logging keystrokes.

I found this thread after getting a similar warning message - I had 2 check it out even though it doesnt make any sense

I mean why would amazon be logging your keystrokes, its just a crazy idea http://webtrendsml2.com/stubby/img/54229abfcfa5649e7003b83dd4755294.gif The shortcuts suggestion makes a lot more sense!
