Greetings all,

I'm making a application which user's Internet Explorer for it's layout content. The html file that is the layout has links to LNK or EXE files. But everytime I try to open them, IE keeps asking me if I want to download or run.

How can I get IE to just AUTO-RUN lnk or exe files?

Please help!
Thanks,

Justin Eslinger

J think you are on collision with the IE security settings.

What you may be looking for is:

from IE menu bar choose Tools > Internet Options.
Select the Security tab.
for a HTML page to come from your own computer or local sebsite, click the Intranet icon.
Click the Custom Level button.
Look for an entry of Launching Programs and Files.
Adjust your setting to Enabled.

If your HTML page is directed to a greater audience, don't forget that each user can have their own security setting.
The mentioned setting is here to inhibit hackers from starting damaging tasks, so review if you really need to have this program started from your page.
