Lately having a "...computer at risk warning" in the system tray after I do a Smart Update. It has been happening more frequently now, especially when the smart update has to download files and then does one of those "restarting product" after it finish downloading. When it does that "restarting product" and it finishes, then is when I get the "Computer at risk warning" in the system tray that my Antivirus is turned off. (I am using SD w/AV latest version), but the icon for SD is still there in the system tray too.

So I had tried a reboot, and it still shows up with both icons in the system tray.

So I then tried a Smart Update, thinking okay maybe it needs to do another Smart Update for some reason (I'm not an IT person, just a pc user). That didn't work, still both icons in the system tray.

So I tried, right click on SD icon in system tray, and click on shutdown. Then I went to the Window Start menu to Click on SD to restart all its services. As it restarts SD wAV, the "Computer at Risk" Warning goes away. Not sure if relevant but during that time of restarting SD wAV, I get a message popup from the system tray that Intelligent guard needs to do something..(sorry forgot what it exactly said) and whether I want to do a Intell- Scan. I clicked yes of course.

Uhhh... Had to do this on about 4 separate occasions lately, and only when it has to do one of those "restarting product" after it finishes downloading files it needs when doing a SmartUpdate, that I guess internally it triggers a need for it to on those occasion say it then needs to "restarting product."

So uhhh...is there something that I forgot to set or need to set in SD wAV? Any help would be appreciated. I do miss when I didn't have to do the above. Other than that SD wAV works for me. :)

I haven't come across this before. After an update and the message occurs, try hovering over the SD tray icon and see if SD is disconnected?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling SD+AV and see if this helps.

in my case, this (please see attached jpg file) little warning pops up and disappears in every boot up or restart the box
wondering is this caused by sd

Don't think its related to SD. For some reason your symantec AV is turned off during startup. Maybe you disabled it from startup?
