I rarely go to Wilders Security Forums anymore because well to be kind, I'll just say it has changed a lot over the years. One thing that hasn't however, is the constant put downs there of Spyware Doctor. There are other products that clearly aren't "Wilders member approved" either, but it just seems some members have a vendetta against SD in particular even though it is clearly a fine product. I guess I'm just a little tired of some of the "goings on" in Wilders and I'm definitely tired of some of the berating that goes on when it comes to SD. I would love to hear some members of this forum post about the positive things they find with SD. I know the Firefox scanning issue isn't one of them, but AChen says it is going to be fixed and from I read in this forum I believe it will be. I hope this post is allowed here as I think it would be good to read some positive input based on facts and not opinion. Thanks.

Don't worry about them over there, I am member there too and I always stick up for PCTools products and recommend them highly every forum and online help sites that I provide assist too. Everyone their ESET this ESET that but that's what they like. Can't change their minds.. But you and I know SD+AV, FW and TF is one of the best software out there! :D

Hi Wordward,

I'm a member of Wilders, too, and like you haven't been over there a lot lately. I haven't been posting a lot here lately either, but that's because (apart from the FF3 problem, which I'm sure will be taken care of) I have no problems with
PCTIS, RM, Browser Defender etc. In fact, they're all running like clockwork, (not like some other software I have!)
So, with pleasure I will take a look and add my input.

Regards,
swannie

Thanks for the replies tipstir and swannie. I must say there has been mostly positive posts on TF there, but if you do a search for recent SD and SD w/AV threads you will see what I mean. I'm currently loving PC Tools FW and SD w/AV with Behavior Guard installed. I do seem to get a slight delay opening programs I have desktop icons for like Quicken, Corel WP, and FF, but it only happens after being on FF for awhile. Once there open if I close the program and open it again everything opens fine. Other than this, no slowdowns when opening My Computer and anything on C drive, or opening Control Panel and anything listed there. I'm thinking this may have to do with one of the Intelli Guards. Perhaps some setting changes would help. I have ruled out firewall and BG as this slight delay happened without either installed. I can live with it however, because of the great features SD w/AV offers and the recent PC Magazine review. I know some don't go by these revies, but they have given Avast home a good one as well which is freeware, so I don't think there's any influence from PC Tools going on like some "Wilders members" seem to elude to. Take care both of you and swannie please do let us know what you think of responses to SD over at Wilders.

Along this same line, I have previously observed in recent weeks that there have been a surprising number of extremely negative posts on _this_ site by new members, _single digit_ number of previous posts. It's like they just come here to badmouth SD, not for support.

When you started this thread it reminded me that for a while now I have been wondering what is happening and why.

And then there's that recent false website that was making SD available.

It appears that something is up.
