Password blues

Hi
I'm running Win2000 and in my dial up properties,if I say save password,it brings up the box with user name,but password is about twenty characters long.Where does this come from?
Can I delete it in Registry/

<font color=blue> Ok, Thats just a little trick your dad put in windows, basically if you have a password, when you type it in it adds a bunch of stars to it, in order to fool someone totally from guessing what your password is, Lets say your password is winguides, it would look like this ******************
