Hi,

I bought a one year subscription of "Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus 6".
I installed it and it runs really fine so far.

My questions

Do I need to run another antivirus software to protect me in realtime from viruses or "Spyware doctor with antivirus" includes that?
I tried to download an Eicar test file (google it if you do not know what I am talking about) and the program didn't alert me (it should as other antivirus softwares do). Why is that?
Is there any way to scan a single file through right click menu? (like most other antivirus solutions)

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Poao

Hi Poao,

1. If you are currently running SD+AV, we normally advise users not to run a second Antivirus program. Running a 2nd AV could potentially cause conflicts. If you would like additional protection, download the Behavior Guard plugin for SD and this can be activated by signing up to MyAccount (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48180) OR installing ThreatFire. Note: You should only install Behavior Guard if you do not have ThreatFire and vice versa. For more info on Threatfire, check out www.threatfire.com.

2. SD and SD+AV will detect files downloaded from eicar. In order for SD to detect these files, make sure File Guard is set to check "All files and Processes" and make sure the option for "Scan Archives" is switched on in Settings-> Scan Settings-> Scan Archives.

3. At this stage this option is not available. However, this is something we will be looking at adding for future versions of SD :)
