I see that new version has just been released a short while ago. I decided to go ahead and install it to see how well the new version would perform. However, when trying to install the program I keep getting the below (see attachment) error message. I tried clicking retry several times and nothing happens. I could have clicked Ignore, but I wasn't sure if that would be a good idea. So, I clicked Abort and I am just trying to figure out what is wrong.

Hi Sulliman24,

What OS are you currently running and Service Pack?

Any ideas as to why I am getting this error message? Has anyone besides me experiencing this problem?

I use PC Tools Internet Security (latest version), Registry Mechanic, and Privacy Guardian. I don't use any other security applications.

The developers are currently working on a fix for this.

In the meantime, install File Recover again, this time when the error message occurs, click on "Ignore"and wait for the installation to complete, then click on Start-> Run-> type regsvr32 "c:\program files\file recover\msxml4.dll".

Let me know if this solves the problem :)

I did just that and I get the below error message. As soon as it finished installing I did not launch File Recover. I immediately followed your instructions and I still get the below error message.

Ok, could you please visit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3144B72B-B4F2-46DA-B4B6-C5D7485F2B42&displaylang=en -> Download msxml.msi and just install the parser.

Achen,

I would do that, but according to Add/Remove programs I already have MSXML 6.0 Parser and MSXML 4.0 SP2. I don't see the need to download version 4.0 of the parser when I already have version 6.0.

However, I will try it anyway just in case. Okay so I just did and I did a custom install and told it not to install the SDK part. In Add/Remove programs it shows up as MSXML 4.0 Parser SP2 and SDK.

I then tried to register the dll file again using your instructions in your previous post and nothing happens. I even tried it in safe mode and nothing happens. Does not being able to register this file, etc. tremendously affect how File Recover performs? I haven't even bothered to run a scan yet so I would not know.

What should I do now? Honestly I don't mind waiting for the dev's to sort this problem out, so if the answer is I need to wait then so be it.

I received the build which should resolve this issue.
If you would like to test this build and see if it fixes the problem, could you send a PM with your email address and I'll pass this along to you.
