Problem with new beta?

Just did smartupdate yesterday to new beta version and now it hangs on "please wait" and eventually freezes and I have to force quit. Tried uninstalling and re-installing without success. Did just apply new security update from mac also yest - could this have anything to do with it? any ideas? using intel imac with 10.5.4. I haven't tried re-booting yet, will see...

I had a Smart Update yesterday and got the same problem - see my post below - but I haven't done the OS X security update so I don't think that is the problem. After uninstalling, did you log out before re-installing? Also, did you install from the original .pkg that you installed from or did you download again? I used the old .pkg and it works fine.

What version are you running now? I dont see an update available. I still have beta 2.

The version I am using is the beta 2 version - guess I hadn't updated in a while. Tried your suggestion and re-installed from a new downloaded .pkg after re-booting - seems to work ok now. We'll see what happens with the next update.
