I installed PC Tools antivirus on my laptop a few days ago, since then it's been fine until today. I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my e-mails, I received a e-mail from an AOL address which was downloaded as usual but when opened the message body was blank. I got the sender to re-send the e-mail but with the same result. Looking on the Thunderbird website help it says it's a virus-scanning problem, with the virus-scanner disabled the AOL e-mails came through fine. Is there a way around this problem?

One other query - what's the difference between the Normal and Fast scans? Is Fast just as thorough but uses more of the CPU so finishes quicker?

Thanks,

I've done a bit more testing of this, if I turn off the Message Tagging in PC Tools AV then the AOL e-mails come through fine, but then there's then no confirmation that they have been scanned. If I turn it back on the problem reappears. When the problem occurs the e-mail body is completely blank, not even the "No virus found in this incoming message" tag.
