AIM In Start Up and System Config Start Up

Hi, I would like to keep AIM AOL Instant Messenger from coming back into my system config start up how can i do it. I remove it from the start up in system config and when ever i use it, it comes back. Is thier a way to remove it permanently.

Hello.
I would suggest checking in all four of the following places to remove AOL IM.
1) After starting AIM, but before logging on click on the "Setup" wrench icon. Go to the "General" tab. Make sure the box next to "Start IM when Windows starts" is NOT CHECKED.
2) In the system registry HK Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer sion\Run
Remove any program that has AIM
3) in registry key HK Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVe rsion\Run
same as 2)
4) remove any AIM In your startup folders.
