I just installed Iantivirus and after attemptig 4 deep scans it just hangs some where about 1/3 into the scanning. I am not very impressed. Do you have any suggestions?
Also I am correct in noticing tha tit isn't possible to schedule scans (probably because it hangs!)

Hi nadman, please tell us which file the scan gets stuck on and your exact scan engine settings. Regarding scheduled scans, they're going to be included in the next beta version.

I too have the hanging problem. Mine is near the end. I wrote the file name will post later (not at home).
I tried to cancel the scan but nothing, so I had to Quit (not force quit).

It hangs in numerous locations:
it hanged once on "mailwasher, application, sample email
and then again on mailwasher2/cache,
then another time on one of my libraries.
The setting is "full scan"
Also How do you scan individual files or folders? There does not seem to be teh ability to csn on demand anything (i.e by right clicking on or selecting a file or folder.) That is a serious deficiency!
Thanks otherwise for a great effort to do something new and necessary!

Which scan engine settings are you using? (hit command + , to see scan engine preferences for "scan mode" and "heuristics").
You can run a custom scan by selecting custom scan from the scan screen and then specifying which folders or app bundles should be scanned.
A finder extension to handle right-click on demand scanning is also on the roadmap for a future version, but thanks for your comments.

I was using "normal scan"
scan mode "detailed"
heuristics "normal"
And I tried other settings (like "fast scan" and still hangs.)
Thanks

Right-click scan option would be most useful.

It seems to hang no matter what the setting. Any suggestions ?
So far it's pretty useless to me as far as scanning is concerned.
Does ANYBODY have ANY suggestions?

Suggestion: You should put a button in the iAntiVirus main window (next to the "Smart Update" button) that takes you to the Preferences. You can get back to the Main iAntiVirus window from the Preference window via the "< Return to main" button/link, but conversely you can't get to the Preference window from the main iAntiVirus window.

hi nadman,
Sorry for the lateness of this response - we've been busy working on the next beta!
Regarding the problem you've been having:
- our team has been trying to recreate the issue for some time now, but as of yet has not been able to
- can you think of any software you may have installed which could conflict with iAV? custom input managers, anything that hooks/modifies existing application or OS X functionality, etc
- can you please PM either myself or AChen a copy of the iAntiVirus or iavd crashreports? (you can find these using the console under utilities - please let us know if you have trouble finding them and we'll give further instructions)
Thanks in advance.
