Having used all of the free AV's including PC Tools. It has become apparent that PC Tools is the lightest. I do wonder however, if my belief that it's now up to par with AVG, Avast, and Avira is true? I know the next release promises to add true automatic updates, but what other improvements are planned? One thing I would like to see, but has no bearing on PCTAV's performance, is a new System Tray Icon. The one now looks ok, but I think it is beneath what I am assuming has recently become a major player in the AV ranks. Thanks.

It seems the new version will have a new tool to block infections which can be in the computer memory

For more information on the new PCTAV v5, check out http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52027. This is currently a beta at this stage and the final release should be just around the corner. I'll pass on the you're feedback regarding the system tray icon :) v5 still does not include the smart update options, but will try to get this done as soon as we can.

Thanks. I can live with having to set the update schedule to when I can update myself, but the icon has to go. LOL.

Yeah, you can hide it. :) (Always Hide)
Too bad we cannot change it, but it's not that bad. :)
