I have the scheduled smart update in my PCTAV set for 9:00 AM every day. My PC didn't get turned on until after 9:00 this morning and it appears that no update took place. If the scheduled update time is missed because the machine is turned off, shouild an update take place as soon as it is turned on, or will it wait until 9:00 the following day?

Hi JCMac,
If the PC is turned off the scheduled updates will not be performed until the next schedule. I have already added this as a feature request, to have this fixed.

PC Tools has produced a number of good products. I use and am quite happy with both Firewall Plus and Spyware Doctor. I installed the AntiVirus product, in spite of it's lack of proven effectiveness based on independent testing, based on my experience with other PC Tools products. The lack of a truly "automatic" update process is a serious problem that needs to be addressed, but it's inability to even "make up" missed scheduled updates introduces a major security hole that could leave a customer's system at risk. I really want to like your product, but PC Tools needs to put more work into it before it is truly competitive. I am still waiting for the results of AV-Comparatives testing, but things are not looking good so far.
