Hia...

I have Spyware Doctor with AV installed on my computer (with Behaviour Guard) and was wondering how regular PCT AV compares? Are they the same with the same performance and configuration options or is PCT AV standalone better?

Not having purchased PCT AV because I have it as part of SD I can't compare myself.

I would also like to know how it compares with other AV utilities, is it up there with the best or should I be concerned my computer isn't as secure as it should be?

Thanks...Illusion...

Hi
The AntiVirus engine in Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus is exactly the same as the stand-alone AntiVirus. There is little/no difference. Spyware Doctor probably has more features, and if you add the Behaviour-Guard addon it is excellent.
Hope that helps

I think I love the anti-virus. It does not use the resources that Spyware Doctor uses. The anti-virus standalone uses a lot less resources than SD stand alone or SD with AV.

I will try this out for awhile, and if it performs as I hope it does, I'll upgrade to the paid version!! :D :D :D

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus is only 13MB while the Free Antivirus by itself is 19.7MB.

It seems(to me) that SD+AV should be a bigger package.

Happy to be a first time poster:D

sorry if this has been asked & answered someplace else .

Hi BigRacket and Welcome!! :D

Once you install SD+AV, there is a large database file that needs to be downloaded from the smart updates which is about 20megs, while the PCTAV's signature database is included in the installer.
