How fast will there be an update after a new threat emerges?

When a new threat emerges, how long does it take to update iAntivirus? What timelimit is your goal? I guess this depends on how high the risk is and how difficult it is to solve?

I found a new version of MacSweeper some time ago ( http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52514 ) and would have expected an update of the database already.:)
