On all websites with a search box in them, each entry I type in is saved and always pops up when I go back to the site to search for something else. Could someone please tell me how to disable the drop-down menu that always comes up when I search? I've looked through the settings for IE and haven't found anything. Also, I clear my IE history and Temporary Internet Files and it still comes up! I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks

Try going to IE Tools/Internet Options, advanced tab, scroll down under Browsing and remove the check next to "Use inline auto complete for web addresses". HTH

I appreciate your response, but it still didn't work! I thought it would too, but...

I think part of the reason it doesn't work is because I use MSN Explorer. However, the same internet options tab in control panel works for everything in MSN but this. I have a feeling it might be solved somewhere in the registry, though I've done many searches and looked a long time.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I don't know MSN Explorer, but have you tried clicking the Content tab, then the AutoComplete button and chose Clear Forms & Clear Passwords. Then uncheck all boxes. If some still appear:

navigate to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

and delete the encrypted values as well.
