Been using PC Tools antiVirus for a month or so, however it has not needed to update for 5 days. Every time I do the Smart Update it informs me all is well ,I find it difficult to believe that a new virus or two has not required it's attention in that time ?

Not for being rude or anything, but how does that explain the long times between AV-definitions? :D

Appreciate quick response, I will continue using Threatfire but not the AntiVirus until I know the reason for the lack of updates ;)

I too noticed the virus database showing not updated in 5 days. As of 15:48 GMT -5, smart update still shows all is OK, but the warning shows no updates in 5 days. Am I missing something?

Same here, I have two machines I deleted PC Tools AntiVirus from one and installed a replacement. But have just checked the remaining machine and no luck getting any updates, it shows as your machine shows nothing has been updated in 5 days. To top it all I have just downloaded the latest Windows updates and ZoneAlarm will not let me online. Re-installed a new version but still no luck, it's all happening tonight and I may need a drink or two before the morning.

It's all good RavenMacDaddy, that's what the forum is here for :)
We had a minor problem with the updates and this is why there was a delay with the DB release.

We have also made changes to the way we update our databases. Updates will now be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Many thanks for your help, I had managed to sort it last night. I dumped ZoneAlarm and installed PC Tools firewall. Must be millions of punters who have no idea why they are not able to get online this day. Bet ISP support is working overtime on those premium rate help lines !

Hi sturgess :)

Must be millions of punters who have no idea why they are not able to get online this day.

The problem of the...
Windows Update : Malicious Software Removal Tool - & - ZoneAlarm
Has indeed turned out to be a massive problem

I'm glad you're all sorted now! ;)
