Hello, I'm having a problem connecting to websites on a recently installed Win2000 system. The system is on a home LAN shared DSL with Internet Connection Sharing, with a Win98 system as the gateway. I know the best thing would be for the 2000 system to be the gateway, but that's not feasible for me. The weird thing about my problem is that it's not all websites. Hotmail.com comes up just fine. When I try to bring up microsoft.com or msn.com, it takes about 5-10 minutes saying at the bottom of the window "web site found, waiting for reply..." When it finally "replies" per se, it's not a complete webpage; it's missing pretty much all of the graphics and the main frame of the page are missing.
I've gone through all of the cable and dsl registry tweaks, and nothing has seemed to help. I had a similar problem with win 98, and that had turned out that I had the MTU set improperly. I've checked that this time around, and it seems correct, unless I've just got it in the wrong place. I'm sorry if I've seemed to rambled on, but it's now 2:30 in the morning and I've been trying to get this to work for the past 3 hours. Any help would be appreciated, and thank you ahead.
