Hi,
As a newby, I hope I'm not duplicating a thread, but I have searched with no results. Yesterday my computer was infected with a trojan : Trojan.CHM.Psyme which was not caught by the anti-virus part of PC Tools Internet Security. I only found it when my Inbox loaded up with rejected mails replies. The AV found it only when I did a manual scan. Is this a new trojan? And perhaps more importantly ( although possibly a firewall problem), why didn't I get some sort of warning about the flood of emails going out? Zonealarm has this function, so PC Tools should be able to do it.

Hi chrispo,
This could quite possibly be a new variant. What you can do is run the Malware Detective in PCTIS. This will send us a log file and if there is any infections on you're PC, our MRC team will create signatures to remove this threat :)

Hi AChen,
Thanks for the quick reply, but I can't find any reference to Malware Detective in PCTIS on my computer. I do have Secure Community enabled.

The Malware Detective is found in Tools-> Malware Detective-> Follow the prompts :) If you do not see a Tools button, perform a Smart Update.

Thanks, Anthony, but there isn't a Tools button to be seen. I have run smart update & it tells me I am up to date, but still no Tools. The Help -> About shows my version as Internet Security Version 2008 (5.5.0.212).
Rgds,

You are using an older version of PCTIS. Check out http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51891. The latest version is PCTIS v5.5.1.322 :)

I have some virus samples which are detected by other AV like NVC v5.99 but just PC Tools AntiVirus Free Edition 5.0.0.16 cannot detect it or even by manual scan. I cannot find on that s/w or officially website for submit the suspicious files to scan center for virus signatures update. Thx.
